Description

In the Prosthetic FX: Level 3 class, students are taken through how to life-cast the face of a live model as well as how to correct and prepare a casting for creating “gel-filled” encapsulated silicone prosthetics! In this class students will have the opportunity to create a full face set of “snap” molds as they learn proper set-up of snap molds to create a multi-overlapping prosthetic character design.

This class is largely based with hands-on learning and also includes live demonstrations and lectures by the instructor. All products, materials, and tools needed for this class are included in the tuition fee. It is encouraged to bring a notepad to take notes and a camera to document your progress as you learn. Students will be responsible for providing themselves a model and all body safe industry standard make-up, adhesives, airbrushing or body-painting supplies, wardrobe, wigs, nails, and other accessories to apply their final make-up design on the final day of the course. Airbrushes and compressors will be provided for student use during the final make-up application. After final make-up application completion, students will have the opportunity for their model to be photographed in a professional photo shoot provided by the studio. Upon finishing the class, students will receive a certificate of completion signed by the instructor.

NOTE: Silicone Prosthetics (Advanced) is a class designed for students who have previous sculpting or prosthetic experience, or whom have previously completed other prosthetic classes with Vancouver FX.
