Description
In Vancouver FX’s Life Casting FX workshop, students are taken through the process of life-casting a live model full head and creating quality life-casts and snap molds, including professional techniques and skills used by sculptors, prop makers, special effects make-up artists, and hobbyists. Students will delve into the detailed process of creating a full head and shoulders life cast on a live model from start-to-finish, leading into the process of cleaning, correcting, and preparing the positive cast – a process adaptable to any subject of choice. In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to make a life-cast of their own finger, in plaster, and also learn about casting in life casting silicone.
This workshop is largely based with hands-on learning and also includes live demonstrations and lectures by the instructor. All products, materials, and tools needed for this workshop are included in the tuition fee. It is encouraged to bring a notepad to take notes and a camera to document your progress as you learn. Upon finishing the workshop, students will receive a certificate of completion signed by the instructor.
NOTE: No previous life-casting or art experience is necessary prior to taking this workshop.
